Your Pattonville Pirates skated to a 4-3 loss Saturday night to end our season. The Pirates came out running and kind of caught the Wildcats off guard. We were playing much better hockey than we did the previous night. We managed to come out tied after the second period and then gave up 2 goals in the third to put it out of reach and end our season. The Pirate scoring consisted of a pair by Kaleb Null and a single by Leo Waldau. The Pirates over all had a great season and we want to thank all the fans in Pirate nation who stood behind them. Thanks to our cheerleaders and their parents for their loyal support. A special shout out to all the hockey parents who cheered on the boys all season long. We also want to thank our coaching staff for the time and effort put forth to teach and develop each and every player. Good luck to all our seniors as you continue on in your life journey and may you all remember the joy we had after winning some really tough games. Thanks for all the memories!

Your Pattonville Pirates skated to a 6-1 loss Friday night in the first game of round 2 of the playoffs against the Eureka Wildcats. The Pirates came out slow against the Wildcats and never really challenged them at all. They were beat to the puck and most of the game was spent chasing after them in our own zone. We really were outplayed as can be seen in the deficit of 36 shots on our goal vs. 9 shots against the Wildcats. We managed to get a power play goal midway through the third when Leo Waldau passed out front to Ryan Schaeffer for a one timer. The Pirates will be playing the second game at the Rec Plex Saturday night at @8:45 pm.

Your Pattonville Pirates skated to a 4-2 win Tuesday night for the right to advance to the Second Round of the Wickenheiser Cup Playoffs. The Pirates were a little slow coming out of the locker room tonight and never really dominated like they did in the first game but they did play very well. We managed to only score four goals but the good news is that we only really needed three to clinch round one and set our sights on the Eureka Wildcats in round two. Cody Saathoff got the party started with the first goal of the game as he skated across the blue line all alone and buried the biscuit in the top corner. Tyler Kuhn has been playing great hockey and was rewarded with a pair of goals including the tying goal and the empty netter at the end to bury the hatchet. Ryan Schaeffer set up the game winning goal with three minutes remaining in regulation play. He stole the puck at the blue line and made a great move to get by the defense only to have his stick lifted before getting off a shot. Ryan charged behind the net and stole the puck again before delivering a pass to Leo Waldau who blasted it past the stunned Colts goalie. Alan Eidelman continues to play very solid in goal and after denying the Colts on several occasions the juiced up Pirate crowd cheered “He’s our Freshman” as the Colts fans stared in disbelief. Alan also contributed with an assist on the final empty net goal as he played the puck and moved it out of the zone quickly. The Pirates are on a roll and looking forward to Round Two Playoff Action later this week. WE NEED A STRONG PATTONVILLE CHEERING SECTION AGAIN for round 2!! Tell all your friends to come out and support the Pirates!!!

Your Pattonville Pirates skated to a 11-1 win Saturday night in the first round of playoffs against the league leading Parkway Central Colts. The Pirates were buzzing as the huge crowd of Pattonville supporters even students sporting green face paint cheered on. The Pirates played like a different team than they did on the last league game against the Colts. We managed to mount incredible scoring chances and were able to bury them in the back of the net. Scoring was led by all the following Pirates with 2 goals each: David LaBeaume, Logan Harnetz, Tyler Kuhn, and Leo Waldau. The other three playes scoring one each were: Nick Bodicky, Cody Saathoff and Harry Tucker. Alan Eidelman was outstanding between the pipes and he even stopped a penalty shot. The lone goal by the Colts came after a breakdown on defensive coverage. The Pirates will be playing the second game at Parkway’s home ice Tuesday night at Queeny Rec. Complex. @ 9 pm. WE NEED A STRONG PATTONVILLE CHEERING SECTION AGAIN for this game. Tell all your friends to come out and support the Pirates!!!

Your Pattonville Pirates skated to a 6-3 loss Thursday night. The Pirates were flat footed and tried to play a chasing game. This left us vulnerable to several repeated sniper attacks. We only could develop 3 goals and it was not enough. Goal scorers for this game were Zach Guenther, Leo Waldau and Cory Brown.
